Greyhounds Available for Adoption

The Phoenix Greyhound Park race track is shutting down at the end of December 2009. This will displace an undetermined number of greyhounds. GCNM will be taking in as many as possible. Please bookmark this page so you can readily check for new dogs coming in. Due to an outbreak of respiratory illness at the track, these dogs will not be released until sometime in February.

Jordie

Jordie
"Jordie" is approximately four years old. She was taken from a hoarding situation in eastern New Mexico and was emaciated, but is starting to put on weight. Jordie is very affectionate with people and gets along great with other large-breed dogs, but she cannot be trusted with cats or other small animals.
Although blood tests reveal she was exposed to a tick-borne disease, her routine blood work is all within normal limits for a greyhound. We are treating her with Doxycycline as a preventative measure and GCNM will pay for all medication needed for this treatment. She's learning the ropes of living in a house and seems to be adjusting well.
She is a wonderful, tail-wagging girl and will be a great companion for any home with greyhounds or other large dogs.
